The CEF has enjoyed tremendous success over the past three years but our work has only just begun. We continue to receive grant applications for technology, programs and curriculum enhancements that many schools in comparable residential communities already have in place. Our mission by the end of our fiscal year 2011 (June) is to bring our cumulative raise to over $1,200,000 and grow our endowment to $485,000. Donations and pledges from residents have been our primary source of funding, together with matching corporate gifts.
Contributions made to the CEF can be designated as Project Gifts or Endowment Gifts.
Project Gifts are used to fund the most essential and impactful needs of our schools as determined by our school administration in coordination with the CEF. Annual project gifts are generally put to work within 2 years of donation and are an effective way to support the continuing needs of our educational system.
Endowment Gifts help build a perpetual source of funding to support the long-term health of the school system and the Town. Principal preserved, a portion of the net income earned by the endowment fund can be made available for projects.
